2. What data we collect
- Identification and contact details: name, ID document, phone number and email address.
- Appointment and dental care records, including the health information required for your treatment (sensitive data).
- Billing details, where applicable.
- Website usage data (see the Cookies section).
3. How we use your data
- To schedule, confirm and manage your appointments.
- To send reminders, confirmations and appointment notices by WhatsApp, text message (SMS) and/or email.
- To provide and document your dental care.
- To meet legal, accounting and tax obligations.
- To improve our services and patient care.
4. Reminders via WhatsApp and other channels
To send you reminders and let you confirm, reschedule or cancel your appointment, we use the WhatsApp Business platform (from Meta Platforms, Inc.). Your phone number and appointment details are processed through Meta under its own policies. You can stop receiving these reminders at any time by writing to info@endodontics.com.sv or by replying to the message.
5. Legal basis for processing
We process your data on the basis of your consent, the care relationship you request from us, and compliance with the legal obligations applicable in El Salvador, including the Personal Data Protection Act.
6. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with providers that help us operate (for example, the WhatsApp/Meta messaging service and our email provider) and with authorities when the law requires it. These providers may only use the data to deliver the service to us.
7. Retention
We keep your data for as long as you are a patient and for the period required by legal obligations and clinical record retention. After that we securely delete or anonymise it.
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data: access control, encryption in transit and backups.
9. Your rights and how to exercise them
You may request access, rectification, cancellation (deletion) or object to the processing of your data, as well as withdraw your consent or ask us to stop sending reminders. Write to info@endodontics.com.sv stating your request; we will reply within the timeframes set by law.
10. Minors
Data relating to patients who are minors is handled through their mother, father or guardian, who authorises the care and the reminders.
11. Cookies and site analytics
Our website may use cookies and analytics tools to understand how it is used and to improve it. You can configure your browser to block cookies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Any change will be published on this same page, showing the date it was updated.
